Thing to do is call the school and ask them.I know for cdl you must register med card but didn't know the same law is required for permit holders.

Here in Nebraska you can take the test and pass but you won't get the permit until you take the physical.

I believe you do need to have the Medical card before taking the permit test. The school I want to in PA required it. The reasoning is that the test you are taking is a driving learners permit.
Might also be a good idea incase the test catches something that you need to take care of before getting to school. Blood sugar. Eye test, BP. etc.

Huh? What does that matter? I'm not being a smart Alec, I'm serious, what does that matter? What's different now than the past 30 years?

You're 100% right - you do need it now, but why did they change this all of the sudden?

PA is getting weird about some things. I was just at the DMV to renew recently, since you can't do it online. I walked in, and was asked for my birth certificate. I didn't have it with me, never needed it before for renewal. And I've been through the renewal process a few times. I asked why it matters now after all these years. "New law" he says. I can understand someone applying for a learner's permit, but for a guy who's lived in the same town my whole life, and held a CDL for almost 20 years? Blows my mind

Ditto Wisconsin. Apparently not Pennsylvania... It's interesting how something that is federally mandated can very so much from state to state. Gods forbid all states agree on something.

Don't worry people. What they have planned for us?
You'll have to obtain a "Sane" card before you can enter the DMV office.
Any Democratic Party affiliation will grandfather your "Sane" card. :biggrin_25512::biggrin_2551::biggrin_25513:

I just read the PA DMV website and it does say you need to show current medical card and also self certify before taking the written permit test.

Wonderful more money I don't have really right now. Called my local hospital it's $95 they will bill me I don't have insurance.

Should I go to a hospital or a family practice? I want the most basic physical required don't need in depth checkup just want a dang cert so I can get on the roll.
