Yeah, you probably did right. I come from a time, especially in all my trucking years, the less said, the better, but then again, we didn't have cameras on every light pole watching our every move. And don't kid yourself, everyone of us pulled some boners we never got caught at, it was just part of trucking. You're a good driver,,

@rolls canardly
I didn't want you to have only one person call you such.
So I brought in a guest, to call you a

All in good fun. Handled the situation just fine all jokes aside. PA gets pissy over things like that.
Sirscrapntruckalot - They say we learn from our mistakes. If that's the case I'm a genius by now.Dale thompson, Coffey, rolls canardly and 2 others Thank this. -
My old man was Red Foreman to a T, except the Toyota..Sirscrapntruckalot, Coffey, alds and 1 other person Thank this.

So, to the point of - learning from our mistakes, and the "old man,"
I had two golden, encouraging phrases I (didn't) grow up with.
A) - "Live and DON'T learn."
B) - " It's not that you're so good, it's that they're so bad."
Kept me humble and hungry.
He was never the old man; always my Father.
If I picked my parents I could not have done better.MACK E-6, Dale thompson, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -
@rolls canardly if I was in your stomping grounds and needed some 4 wheelers rescued I wouldn’t hesistate giving you first call.

Question.
Wouldn't it have better been to stuff a rag in the tank before driving off?Last edited: Jul 26, 2020

A definite maybe?
In one of the posts I had posted a picture of the cut.
I didn't even take the time to get out of the truck to look at it.
I have a side mirror on top of my door, and all I saw was a fan spray.
I made the assumption it was a slit, not a hole - from the pattern.
Possibly could have gotten something in the one end of the cut,
but i didn't know for sure, and didn't want to take the time to find out. So I just took off to get containers under it. I made a split second decision - and right or wrong, I was going to see it thru to the end.
I'm not one of those indecisive, "what to do - what to do," "can
someone please come help me" types.Sirscrapntruckalot, Dale thompson, AModelCat and 1 other person Thank this. -
I just wanted to point it out so that anyone who reads this and years later ends up with a ripped tank has a idea off what might help.
I did it for another driver with a torn tank a few years ago.
A gusser became a dripper.Snailexpress and rolls canardly Thank this. -
Good call.
In my case I maybe could have done something with a rag
and a putty knife, and a hammer, to drive it in somewhat.
Remember what they say; (Should be a tee shirt,)
"If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical."xsetra and daf105paccar Thank this.
