Assuming the other requirements for personal conveyance are met, I believe you are mistaken. Please provide the reference to the regulation that backs this up.
You run out of hours, not allowed to park on property for your 10

I think what has confused him is that you can't use pc if you have been put OOS for hours violation.x1Heavy Thanks this.
-
Not just that But you can't drive a CMV after the 14 hr.
I when back to try and find it on FMCSA website but couldn't. Not even on jjkellers site. If I get a chance I'll have to make a call to DOT Today. I hate when I read something and don't bookmark it and can't find it again. Lol -
I will try and find it again and point you in the correct direction.

I am almost certain that you are mistaken about this. Although the vehicle is registered as a CMV, assuming you meet the other criteria for using PC, you are essentially using it as you would your personal vehicle when off duty. Obviously, I could run my 14 completely out and then drive my personal vehicle another 10 hours if I chose to. That is the whole purpose of the PC option, to give you an opportunity to use your CMV to convey you somewhere for a personal purpose. Again, assuming the criteria for using PC have been satisfied.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Safety is paramount. Complying with arcane and inflexible regulations is not.
Contact your company for their instructions. They will likely direct to drive to a safe legal location and note it on the logs.
If it happens a lot because you aren't managing your time well they will eventually fire you.
If it happens because they don't manage your dispatch properly and fire you, document the times and circumstances. Then contact a lawyer. If he takes your case you will recover back wages and be offered your old job. Although I wouldn't take it.
This is happening thousands of times a day now. -
You won't find it. There are exactly zero regulations reguarding pc. There are 2 guidances though. One says no pc if oos. The other deals with the two, and only two, reasons pc can be used. Basically home from terminal, and resturants from a hotel. That's all there is for pc.
Edit: Sorry, forgot the third. Must be unladen.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
PC essentially isn't driving a cmv, it is treats a cmv as a pov. If you go to the terminal, and you are out of hours, you still can bobtail home. If you get put out of service for hours violation, you can't drop the trailer and claim pc at that point.

I suspect we're going to find that the "Personal Conveyance Rule" is in fact only a product of company policy (or owner-op's personal policy)
So, this would explain why there seems to be so many different "opinions" on the subject. Truck stop counter folk lore strikes againZVar Thanks this. -
BINGO.
If they OOS you and sticker cover that left windshield in your driver's line of sight you are O.O.S. until the printed date and time to the minute written on that sticker. (It's size of alegal pad and reflective to boot You cannot drive with that blocking you.)
Nice effort though. I'll give props to anyone who thinks about PC as a workaround to OOS.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
