You hauling explosives? Otherwise quit using the term safe haven. It doesn't apply

it has nothing to do with explosives it's just about finding a safe place to park and it allows you to do so I've never had a problem doing so

@18 wheelsoffury that's actually not right, safe haven is for explosive hazard cargo, not for just any jack hole, that can't figure out where to shut shut down,

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

It has everything to do with explosives. The term is specifically designated to mean that one thing in this industry. I could care less if you follow the HOS but I do take issue with the terminology. Its misused enough as is

I mean literally it was sub sectioned for only explosive cargo, not for "can't find a place to park" that being said, note in log the truck stop was full or whatever, yea but you don't have safe haven. Safe haven is I have to roll, cause I got a load of "everyone might die" if this load is not protected.

Check if you have Canadians hours on your qualcomm, you should have this option to change it.
Canadian drivers can work 16 hours and 13 driving or North Canada hours 16 driving and 18 working .If you switch it before you done with your hours you wont get red light flashing ,warning
.However any accident in this time its your fault .Some drivers from my company call dispatch and request the towing service ,its costly for company but guys don't care :)

    RedRover Thanks this.

I had to take a winter driving class this last week. It used the term "safe haven" regarding parking the truck. I swallowed my pride and selected it as the correct answer, knowing that we don't haul explosives!

I think this has as sharp teeth as a toothless geezer, but according to the FMCSA's coercion page, a shipper may not tell you to drive when you are out of hours.
