You ask for it, here it is.

Someone has chosen a day to take action.

    MARCH 24
    I call it.
    "Equipment Repair" Day

    Be responsible.

Deliver your load. Do not interfer with the roadways.

We need the public on our side, not ranting about the "#### TRUCKERS".

Joe Public needs to know that they are effected by our delema.

They won't hear us if they are PO'ed.

The last thing we want to do is create enemies with Joe 4-wheeler. Attitudes like shut down the highways will only invite separation of support from Joe and Gina Non-trucker.

Anything that is done must do so in a way to make the public knowledgable of the problems being faced and that they too are in the path of the frieght train that is killing the American Trucker.

We may be driving the truck but they are riding in the passenger seat, whether they know it or not.

I just read the article from mt vernon news

"Bark said the run from California to Maryland used to pay $8,000; now, it pays $2,200, about $1 a mile. To break even, Bark said he needs to make about $3.20 a mile; to make a profit, at least $4."

    Who is this Bark?
I have to be honest but this quote is very unrealistic and makes truckers seem greedy

Actually I was talking about his break even "3.20" and what he has to do to make a profit "4.00"
Those numbers make truckers seem like crybabies and making tons of money , there for an unbelievable story and problem

It is very believable comparing 3-4yrs ago where we used to get anywhere from 2.50-3.50 per mile outta of Cali during produce season..i remember deadheading my trucks as many as 700miles from OR to CA to move their freight ...but don't remember pulling anything out of california for 3 yrs now..and refuse to go there.

He may have explained the kind of costs involved with those numbers but the reporter conveniently left that part out.:biggrin_25511:
