Then you’ve misunderstood what it is.
The digital signal processing of the audio can be with a separate unit inline between radio & speaker. But, why?
The unit on offer is rugged and has outstandingly good audio even with the VARIABLE signal processing turned off.
Your radio is better than you think. But you won’t know it without the same tool used in high-quality Amateur equipment.
Mines got a few hundred thousand miles on it the past five years. The first couple of years bouncing through the oilfield.
It will make sense once you use one that now you can hear AROUND the noise. Voices out there you’re missing.
It’s a real trip to hit a rural area in the evening with RF GAIN wide open and SQUELCH inactivated that there can be so many voices coming in you have to dial them back in.
There’s no going back.
And every improvement you make in your radio system to improve performance or cut noise is twice-rewarded.

You didn’t respond regarding to your Mic. It’s not an original RK 56. I can tell by the sticker show boating by the mfg that took over them. -
Your Moto ain’t doing the same, nor is your radio and Moto doing the same.
You don’t want the performance boost they both need, leave it on the table.
And I said nothing about my RK56. None I own are original. But the latest ones are better than ten years ago.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -

They’re fun to play with. The sun goes down and who-ee.
shogun and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
It's possible the matching Transformer which is now made in China instead of Japan like the original ones could be the problem. The new RK56 will not fully modulate the carrier on any of my radios so my radios would have to be modified to make the new RK56 work.Diesel Dave Thanks this. -

It works well in DX if conditions are there, but local not so much. To hear some of these stations (up to 75 miles) clearly is nice. I’m still getting used to the tone when the filter is on.Slowmover1 Thanks this. -
There’s a learning curve. Not much. One soon learns whether to “touch up” the radio, the speaker, or both.
My 885 Uniden Hybrid (CB & Scanner has been driving me nuts lately. The best audio for either function is different control settings.
I’ve “found” a compromise, but it magnifies the screech portion of the hash. Drives me nuts.
It’s running two sources into one speaker.
Going home Monday so time to dig out the 99V2 & KL7505v and mount it in one of TRC Radio Carriers.
I’ve bought the mobile mount for the Yaesu Ft450d, so it’s secure in the second carrier. I’ll bolt it to the bottom of the other. When I get REAL motivated I’ll start learning the cheat sheet (only 18 closely-typed pages), ha!
