Texas is not so great at the moment , you might want to wait till late spring or early summer. Insurance quotes for a 21 yr old driver with new Authority will be extremely costly . I think most ppl on this forum will tell you to lease on to a bigger company or get more experience before pursuing this endeavor and I would agree.

Im 24 and barely this year lol, still looking for insurance(which is a ##### to get with 2yrs experience, no accidents, clean record, and in cali!) But im sure everything will work out fine. As for how to get insurance i just google "new venture truck insurance" along with some people on here helping me out find insurance agents. Good luck man

At yall's age and lack of experience you better have deep pockets! If you can find a insurance company to cover yall's butt!

good thing about being that young even if you go bankrupt there's plenty of time to recover. ...... and eight months experience wow why did you wait so long .... and get your own authority right out the gate . just work the load boards .... it all sounds good

The hardest part will be finding somebody to insure a new authority, I did what you're thinking at 21 and it was about 15k for the first year. I would lease onto somebody else for a few years first of you don't have somebody to help you with all the paperwork involved.

I got my intra-state authority when I was in my early 20's. 2006 ish. Local under 200 mile radius 1 million liability cost me under 2k a year.

Insurance is going to be high, if not unobtainable with a lack of experience.

DRIVE for someone else, get four years in and then see what your insurance will be.

it was a little tougher to get authority or impossible to get when I was that young now they hand it out like free cheese. I started out in owner operator in the 80's leased to an air freight company that never flew anything anywhere it was a way to circumvent the rules. at the present there are way too many guys running with there own authority with a low cash high debt load
