We had 2, one was a 26' deck and the other was 28'. the 28' started out as a hydraulic until the neck broke. The 26 was 102" wide and the 28 was 108" wide. Both were Tri axles and both were Cozads. The 28' well trailer weighed in at 21k and empty with the truck I was at 45k. I don't know what the other one weighed because I rarely pulled it. I think the decks were at 24-26" height.

No clue. I have an idea but never seen one. Maybe @truckdad can help with that. In most states you have the added weight and extra tires on the ground but do not get any more allowance than you would get with a standard axle.

    truckdad Thanks this.

Well I need more information, what is your primary business? Are you a custom hauler, work for a construction company, are you in a daycab making short hauls or sleeper running further?

Well I run mostly around the southeast region. Say east Texas to Virginia. I run a small sleeper home every week to 10 days. Mostly construction equipment, some port work. Like big crated machines. A lot of Volvo A 40 haul trucks, track hoes a few d6's and 7's. I've made one trip to mm, and Nd this year and about four to pa.

Also I work fairly heavy off the load board. About 50% of my work comes from there.

If I were buying a trailer it would be a Talbert or Trailking but neither of those are light. If your planning on sticking with 7 axle freight I would think a 50 ton would be plenty even a 45 ton if you don't plan on being at or near capacity all the time. I spent most of my career on a 45 ton. That's a tricky wicket though, you can get a 45 ton fairly light which allows more payload then you end up being at capacity pretty easy. I said before I hated Etnyre's and I do, but if you're the only one pulling it and pay attention you might be alright. I wouldn't own one but guys do have good luck with them. Have you looked at a 50 ton Fontaine?

No, I was unaware they made a 50 ton. I thought they jumped up to a 55 ton. I would like an 18 inch deck. Some of my port freight gets kinda tall. The etnyre that weighed in at 15,800 had only a 24 foot deck. I think I need at least a 26
