I like the Volvo the most for the ride down the road, but the shaky Cascadia has a big space that makes it easy to do my kettlebell workouts inside the truck so I pick it only for that reason. The Cascadia is built like junk, stuff falls off, rattles, sleeper air vents don't close properly allowing a lot of outside noise and cold/warm air slip in right by my head which is the most irritating thing about that #### truck. Even with all that I still love that space.

I like my volvo for the turning radius you could jackknife it going forward its awsome for small spaces. But the pos keeps breaking down and they never have the parts on hand

I got to see a 2013 KW today, it was a lease truck Swift took back, guy I talked with today got the truck only being with swift for 2 months and it only has 103k miles on it, It looked sleek inside and out.

I like Cascadia's and Prostar's for the room and storage space.

I used to like Volvo's for storage, but the new ones have a simple shelf above the driver instead of the cabinets.

I have a 2013 Volvo, and it has been the most reliable truck of the 5 I've had in the past 2+ years.
Simple problems like a clogged fuel filter or a turbo speed sensor.
Got it new with about 2k miles, and now with well over 100k.

    3 Volvo's, 1 ProStar and 1 Cascadia.
I had the ProStar for 6 months, and it was in the shop for about 6 weeks of that time with various problems.

The Cascadia was good as well, but I only had it a month before they made me trade it to a team.
(into another Volvo with 485k, and a wreck)

I would love to have a Volvo 780 for the space, combined with the fuel mileage of either the Cascadia or ProStar.
Can't have it all, I guess.

right now I just want what they will throw at me :p

I am debating hard about the o/o route but I want to stick it out for awhile as a company driver and hear more reviews from fellow drivers before I go for my own choice of a truck.

I don't blame you. It's a big step to go o/o. I will probably go that route after a year at least. I think the reason they have ###### company trucks is to make the lease trucks look that much better lol. I talked to my fleet manager today and he told me they are short on trucks. I wanted to say #### I didn't know freightliner and volvo dealers stop selling trucks. But I bit my tongue

im curious if some of the o/o guys can post some pics of the inside of your cabs and sleepers? I started putting money aside so in a few months I can try to have a down payment and go get a truck at a dealer rather than with swift plus I have to wait to be eligible with Swift anyway and im trying to compare different trucks and stuff. Right now im driving an older volvo vnl780 I think is a 2009 which is nice but I want to see options out there.

Two pieces of advice ... first give yourself a year driving. You need to go through a winter, everything is peaches and cream right now and will be for awhile. Winter out here is a different game. You also need to find out how many miles you can put in and if you can work the system to get the miles. January is a cruel mistress, the weather sucks and the freight sucks even more.

Second, if you are going to buy a used truck from a third party you better be enough of an expert to know all the potential issues on that truck .. and have about $20K in the bank in reserve just for the truck. I picked up a used truck ... Swift covered $10k worth of repairs during the 30 day bumper to bumper that Swift provides ... I've covered another $6k out of my own pocket since then. Go to an outside party and the warranty can be a lot more restricting as to what is covered and where the work can be done.

yeah im not rushing into anything, I figured it wouldnt be until after tax season next year. I have been picking my mentors brain a lot more today now that im back on the truck. He also mentioned waiting and making sure I make the correct decision whichever I choose.
