Your first month(s) recap

After 10 years working a 9-5 and not getting anywhere, I’m looking to change directions and really pursuing to become an o/o hotshot driver working under my own authority. I’m based out of Southern California and I’ve read the hotshot thread and searched other resources online, YouTube etc. for the last couple weeks.

Would anyone like to give some real life feedback regarding their first month(or couple months) experience? Were you able to find loads, cover your overhead and make a profit etc and for the experienced hotshot drivers, if you were to give advice to a new hotshot driver on becoming successful in this line of work what would you tell them?
