I have a feeling that shipper is getting pallet rate for that junk, and your company is gullible enough to give it to them. That may be the only reason they're even using you.

Nothing beats waiting at cold storage facilities, followed by any liquid loads, beer, water, bleach etc.
Thank God my company only pulls these loads a short distance to get you into better freight lanes.
    Transport America is awesome.

When you sign on with ANY LTL outfit, expect the worst. That way, you will never be surprised, or disappointed.
Remember beauty in the eye of the beholder? This garbage freight has some value to it, to someone, otherwise you would not be paid to haul it.
But having been LTL in both local P & D and regional reefer, I know what you mean. Still, if it pays the bills, and you are not working for a jerk company that screws all of their drivers, the job is worth something.
As truckers, we all piss and moan and whine. Hell, a few of us even snivel. This is part of what we do!:D

You nailed it. Onions suck they don't stack. And flour and sugar bags always rip leaving a trail. I hated bag in box soda. Those boxes are like the worst construction in the history of cardboard. Good call and good input man. I can relate.

soda in the boxes are awful. heavy as hell, don't stack, you can't go more than 3 or 4 high and of course they always go someplace different, so you have to make 2 or 3 different loads of just soda.

and I have freight delivered to the wife's work.

There's always someone to sign for it, they have a receiver and then I can just get after it shows up, instead of having to make an appointment, etc.

    Here's the problem though.

Like I alluded to earlier, the freight in question could be both over-dimension and under-billed. If this is the case, the company could very well only be making $70-80 off something that could take an hour to get unloaded due to size or length. This would more than likely mean they're losing money on it.

But what do we know? We're only drivers who should be see and not heard.
