Accidents like this are why the driver shortage scam needs to end.. companies and drivers have been allowed to get away with way too much . Many great drivers just quit the industry due to its race to the bottom mentality and they are replaced with untrained or unsuitable candidates. 25 years ago I bet 50% or more wouldn’t get a second look by most companies.

If he didn't feel that he was trained enough to operate a CMV by himself, but yet still chose to get behind the wheel, that's his fault.

He chose to operate that truck not knowing what he was doing.

People need to own up to their own decisions in life instead of trying to place the blame on everyone else.

    Right ^^^

If need be, get on the radio, and ask other drivers for clarification if needed.
Over the years, I've helped hundreds over the radio, be it as simple as where is a good place to eat, up to how to properly climb/descend a steep ice covered hill.
    If you don't know, ask.

Problem with that theory, is he couldn't speak a word of english. Wouldn't of helped anyway. It would have just been random babbling on the radio.

For kamikazeing innocent motorists when he had other opportunities to try and stop, yeah, 110 years sounds about right. If it had been a family member of mine in one of those vehicles I would have no problem with his sentence.

If he were an illegal immigrant with no CDL and stole the truck, he would do no time.

In MY Opinion, Our "Criminal Justice" system in Convictions and Prison Times are all over the place.
Some Folks Get Little Time, Some Get Terminal Time.
Whatever the judge determines with/without evidence.

Hopefully someone on the radio could speak his language.

That’s the thing. Nobody who can’t speak or read English should be given a CDL. Whoever had a hand in him getting a CDL should be in prison with him.
