When I worked for schneider, I was written up twice for dropping trailers without the fronts zip ties. (Another driver turned me in) they're super anal about zip tying locks. Most of the x-town guys don't since the boxes never hit the yard, but I promise you if a box is being dropped at the terminal, it's going to have zip ties.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I pulled a k-line chassis the other day, and the front push locks had been zipped. Those are the lever kind. The locks don't lock them. So even with the ziptie, it pulled out.

Has anyone had a GOOD lock, as in one not completely wore out or even brand new, come undone?

One of our triaxles has good springloaded twist locks. You reach up from the bottom and turn it. I don't know if there is even a place to zip.

So are there any laws requiring zip ties on chassis pins?anyone
My personal opinion,if the equipment is maintained properly, don't need em,besides that drivers throw them everywhere on ground,it's quite a problem here at Baltimore port, lastly, how did we ever survive with them?with them thrown all over the ground,in 23years,never,never have I had a chassis come up off of a pin, locked or unlocked, then again the way some drive out here ,I could see it happening

Well, that could certainly tend to present a problem.
