Unhook the batteries for a few minutes...kill ALL power to the entire truck. When you hook them back up EVERYTHING will be forced to reboot. The QualCom should "update" as it's searching for the satellite.

 

Not sure if there is anything you can do, but your company should be able to fix this.

I always thought it was funny at a huge company we still had to call the manufacturer when we were having problems.

 

Find the battery disconnect switch and shut it off for a few minutes. Or u can unplug the power to the unit if u know where the black box is. That usually help.

U could have a defected one and u should get it replace

 

I had a similar issue awhile back, I thought I had corrupted software, but the problem turned out to be only a bad power-cord (It can take just so much twisting/curling). PROBLEM SOLVED !

 

Their own IT guy isn't part of the budget.....

Mine is the same way. I've always blamed it being an "older" unit with a cheap, slow board hardware. If it's in the process of pushing up log updates, changing log status and updating and saving the duty time, or processing new incoming messages, it can barely do anything else until that task is done.
