I have what I think is tree sap on my windshield. It was spots, thought it was water so I hit the wipers. It streaked badly. Tried the washer fluid did not help. Tried scrubbing still won't come off, now it's crusted. The only way I found to get it off is to scrape it with a razer, but that will take forever. Any suggestions?

Little can of 'OOPS!' that you can buy at a hardware store is good at dissolving that kinda stuff.

Paint thinner is another of my favorites. You'll need to get some dishwash liquid to give it a clean after you're done.

Theres two types - and I've found the 'other' type works extremely well with residues. I used it when thinning machinery paint. It's more expensive than the regular . . . Xylene, maybe?

Chriss, thanks for the heads-up. Tree-sap hadn't occurred to me, but I could see it happening.

If you get tree sap on a painted surface get it off asap. It will leave a permanent stain if left.

good advice, but mine is a company truck, and an international prostar with a maxxforce, so the paint is the least of my concern...........
