I would say ur a former military. Not ex. You wear that uniform with honor and people respect u, you earn to wear it, so why can some goof ball just wear your uniform without earning it? Goes the same with cdl student calling themselves truckers when they can't even shift right

sad to say, but we can take our dd214 and $2.50 and get a cup of coffee in quite a few places. my favorite is the army infantry who don't know what a blue cord is or where you get it.

I didn't earn a bunch of sewn together pieces of cloth. It's not the clothes that make the man. It's what's in my heart and mind. That's what I earned. In a supposed free nation, a person should be free to wear whatever they please. And if a person has a CDL, then they may call themselves a trucker. Because that is their right. I can call myself a trucker without a CDL. I can walk around with a Pererbilt hat, jeans and suspenders and tell anyone I want that I'm a truck driver. Am I liar? Yes. A law breaker deserving of jail? Not even close.

Agree.....it's just a piece of cloth. But that's still an impersonating an officer, like maybe a high rank officer. I can't just buy a police uniform and act like a policemen.

Sure you can. As long as you're not trying to use powers of arrest. I can be a cop for Halloween. Or I can walk around in a cop uniform. Impersonating an officer only applies if you try to "act" like an officer. Not dress like one.

There was a guy from Oklahoma on the ship, an E-3, and he would get drunk and pass out; slouch down in the chair, head thrown back like he's staring at the ceiling. While he was passed out we would feed him that monkey meat on a stick and he would chew and swallow a bunch of it. The next morning he would complain about the horrible taste in his mouth.
Yep, $10 for night on the town back then; San Miguel beer and a beauty to spend the night with. My favorite bar was the Seven Seas Club, but all of them were good.
Those were some wonderful days; R&R in Subic Bay with a beautiful woman, pack of cigarettes, San Miguel beer, betel nut & thai sticks and a shot of absinthe, aka "Green Fairy." In those Subic bars, good music and dancing with the Green Fairy! Same in Japan and Hong Kong.

I learned working for my 1 employer the difference between ex-Marine and a Marine not on active duty....I mistakenly called my boss an ex-Marine(not knowing any better)....I honestly don't recall what happened the rest of that day. From that day forward...I often started and ended my statements to him with Sir for some reason (and I regrettably never had the honor of serving in the military)
