Lucky he didn't wash it down with a soda. That would be hydrating while driving.

Turner was not breaking any traffic laws or driving erratically, so he was surprised to see the flashing red and blue lights of a police car in his rear-view mirror. When the officer approached the vehicle, he informed Turner that driving around and eating is unacceptable.

“The officer explained to me that he observed me eating a burger for 2 miles, he said specifically three times, you can’t just go down the road eating a hamburger. Maybe I was enjoying the burger too much I needed to tone it down. I was certainly willing to do so but I didn’t expect to be fined or punished,” Turner said.

On the ticket, the officer cited turner under Georgia’s distracted driving law, which is written so vaguely that it is entirely up to the officer’s discretion to decide if a driver is distracted or not. In the comments section of the ticket, the officer wrote “eating while driving.”

Well, it would be nice if they bother to tell us whether or not he wins the court case. But I'll bet we never hear any more about it, either way.

I'd like to see more people ticketed for smoking while driving, now that is a truly distracted dangerous behaviour.

Oh horse crap. You are just a non smoker trying to ram your way of life down other people's throat! :biggrin_2552:

There is NOTHING dangerous about smoking while driving. SON OF A GUN, dropped that lit cigar and it landed right in my shirt pocket, and now my shirt is on fire! OUCH! Dropped that hot lighter right down on my crotch and now my #### is on fire! :biggrin_2551:

OK, thank heaven's for that jug of water I always carry! Just had to reach around into the sleeper and get it, and douse myself. Now, then, what was I saying? Oh yeah, there ain't nuttin' dangerous about smokin' and drivin'!:biggrin_25523:

    :biggrin_2559:

In all seriousness, I have just about set myself on fire with my cigar. On the Riverside Freeway. At rush hour. . .:biggrin_25513:

Of course that won't happen again, since I quit smoking, quit driving big truck and most of all QUIT GOING INTO THE LA BASIN!:yes2557:

...actually, I heard the truth on that matter from a German friend. He exclaimed, "Becauze der iz no self rezpecting German who vould dere put down hiz beer!"

Makes sense to me. German beer is pretty good compared to some of the horse waste we drink. :biggrin_2559:

    One word... donuts.

Cops would be so busy writing each other tickets they wouldn't have time for anything else.
