Border officers in Texas stopped four separate shipments of illegal drugs from entering the country in two days, reported etrucker.com. Four Mexican truckers tried to smuggle the illicit cargo in commercial vehicles.
At Rio Grande City commercial facility on Nov. 14, inspecting officers found more than 1,700 pounds of marijuana. The 1992 Kenworth driven by a 52-year-old Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico citizen was pulling a flatbed trailer of floor tiles that contained $1.4 million worth of marijuana.
On Nov. 15, officers at the Pharr facility found three separate shipments of northbound produce that netted a total of 505 pounds of cocaine, worth about $17.5 million. All three male drivers were residents of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
