I just got off the phone with the District Attorney for Oklahoma County, David Prater (yes, it was really him) who confirmed that the security guard in this case intentionally killed himself at a gun range last week. He said the guard's story just wasn't adding up and that they were planning on charging him with the shooting before he shot himself.

One dead after shooting at S.W. Oklahoma City gun range

He also said something I hadn't heard before, which was that not only was he supposedly messing with the brake lines but he was messing with the kingpin as well.

Here's hoping Paul, the driver who was shot, takes his time selecting a law firm to represent him in his coming civil court case, choosing one with the resources to sift through all the nonsense T/A will surely throw at him.

And yet you don't see ANY of the hecklers coming back to say that they were wrong, and Deadwood has been reporting honestly all along.

I've seen the things he has shared backed up from other sources - not about what was or wasn't done on the truck, but about the guard shooting himself at a gun range (presumably b/c the cops would have taken possession of his weapon after the incident) and I believe that he HAS been talking with the DA - OKC isn't that big of an area, and it doesn't take much time to answer a phone call.

    Thanks for keeping us updated.

The thing that I felt was dumb. He didn't in any way say the DA was "discussing the case." As the case wasn't being brought before the DA. He said he was going to make sure the case was "presented" so that he could review it to decide. That in no way jeopardizes the "case." As people were saying. As there was no "case" before the DA YET, to be contaminated.

Yup the Mexican restaurant is still next door. The bar/restaurant right across the street has really good food. It's called fireside grill.

If they thought I was lying before this really will get them going:

I’d scheduled some time off in Oklahoma City before all this happened to get the battery on my IPhone replaced. While in town, I just dropped off a bouquet of flowers to the D.A.’s secretary because she was the unsung hero in all this - she was the one who put us together. Told her how much we all appreciated David’s review of the matter and that, while the guards suicide was a tragedy, justice was ultimately done.

We don’t need to trust that big, impersonal organizations will fight for our interests. We need to individually stand up and choose to take action when the situation demands it.
