Are you talking GI Bill? You need to find out what co's will accept what schools. Look at local community colleges. Then start contacting co's you are interested in. Most will do a pre-hire which means nothing until after orientation.

I know Roehl has program for the GI Bill, and as Tarps says look into state technical school programs in your state. I have talked to some of my unemployed friends here in TN, and many new programs that have popped up in the past few weeks for retraining unemployed and special features to these programs for people on the GI Bill.

you can go to your local unemployment office and apply for a grant that will pay for your CDL in full.

If you already have a school in mind for attending, go to that school and explain to them the situation for your GI Bill. They will give you some company applications to fill out and may even fax them in for you.

Like SmileyisSexy said, your local unemployment office has a program for training like this. Ask about the WIA Program. That is how I got thru school. They even recommended the school I attended over the one I was looking at and I'm glad they did. It turned out to be a much better situation than what I was looking at previously. The school recruiter also got me the applications I needed for pre-hires and faxed them off. When I got the letters in the mail, I took them into employment office and they took care of the rest.

The school I am heading to is transport tech here in Pa. I have contacted the school they told me to fill out applications online I am taking classes also there they the unemployment office require this Once I have the 3 letters yes they will pay for the school So I guess I should talk to the school again and go from there? Maybe they can help more than me sitting here filling out applications all day lol I did a responce to one app it was CR England but from what i read on here makes me wonder if that is a good fit you know what I mean Thank you all for your help

Jonny, the three I've mentioned before are still my top 3 choices, but I still haven't made a final decision. I will probably wait until after I take my cdl test next Tuesday to finally decide.

Buckeye, don't be afraid to fill out as many applications as you can. The more apps you fill out, the more pre-hires you get back. Just because you get a pre-hire from someone does not mean you have to chose them. So don't worry about the one from CR England, unless that turns out to be the only pre-hire letter you get.
