Hi,
I’m having trouble figuring out how to use my ratchet straps, something I’m practicing on right now, can someone tell me how it’s done? I think I figured it out after my second try, but I know there’s gotta be a better way to take it off because I’m fighting to get the one end without the hook out and through the spool, taking a couple minutes to do just that.
Best regards, John

For a start - WD40 or similar - so that ratchet turns and clicks freely.
I leave the 30’ strap hooked, take ratchet off - opened all the way up, and pull hard - if your ratchet is oiled up it will Un spool ok.
Worst case, turn the ratchet with pliers till strap can be pulled out.cke, farmerjohn64, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
Its raining out but when it stops I will post a picture. When you feed it through make sure the tail end is on the outside towards your body not behind the strap as your ratcheting it.

If it dont turn, a pair of channel locks and u could turn it ... but what i do is open the ratchet all the way and pull on the strap from the backside of the ratchet and it should unspool

I’ve been at this in the baking sun for a good hour, but now I feel happy now that I just figured out how to unspool hehehe

When I buy new ratchets I always take the bolt off at the bottom of the ratchet and flip the hook part around so that you arent ending up in this position...
