Running reefer in a truck stop is literally like some kind of truck repellent. Pulled into a truck stop today, parked near the end of the row. Two spots empty to my right and the rest of the parking spots were kinda tight. Everyone went for the tight spots once they saw I was running reefer, one guy even pulled up beside me and left after.

Does my reefer really sound that bad? Like between my idling sometimes I can't even tell if it's running or not.

Right there with you, the steady sound of a continuous running reefer actually puts me to sleep. That said, I do try to be courteous and anytime I can I’ll park next to another reefer truck. And if it’s an open parking lot I’ll park it off by myself and figure that way other drivers can choose to park next to me or not. But if you choose to park next to me and I parked off to the side, don’t complain. LOL

I agree, I do the same thing, providing there are the free spots. We have Thermo Kings, even on high idle they’re not as noisy as the Carriers we had at my last gig. I personally think many apu’s are as noisy if not noisier than the Thermo Kings. JMO. One thing to remember about reefer wagons, is, I’m fairly sure most people like to eat. Anything refrigerated, anything frozen, most restaurant food, all had someone parked next to it in multiple truck stops, not to mention a dedicated driver ultimately bringing it to the point of sale.

It has to be parking. Trying to find a space anywhere at night is a disaster. Part of the reason why I start looking for parking with anything less than 3 hrs on my clock usually (if it's after 5pm ).

Distant second place might be crowded and/or tiny and/or pothole infested drop lots. I've been to places that had all 3 problems and it wasn't a pleasant experience.

My wife always wants a small burger or nuggets so she gets the happy meal but I think somebody must be stealing the toys because I don't remember seeing any.

Starting to think mine is my dispatcher; first he wants me to deliver at an impossible time a day ahead even though it’s supposed to be delivered today at a specific appointment time; I don’t know if they can unload me early, but after waiting for it to get closer to time so that I don’t end up waiting around doing nothing while burning up my 14 hours I get a message saying to get moving lol what’s the point in an appointment time if you’re not there for that specific time? Of course I’m new so I don’t know everything

I’m new so I don’t know everything. There's the problem farmerjohn.

Is your dispatcher married? Ask him, her name. Everytime he starts pulling crap, ask him how she is. What color is her hair. Catch my drift john.

    G13Tomcat and farmerjohn64 Thank this.
