Hello there, my boyfriend and I are interested in the trucker lifestyle and are considering Covenant as well. Problem is, neither of us have our CDLs...any advice on the best route to getting them based on y’all’s experience? We’re in Los Angeles. Also, this thread has been extremely helpful...so thanks to everyone that contributed

My advice...... Find a company that is mutually agreeable to both of you. Sign up, get your training individually, team up after the required training, learn how to make money. It will take time. The concept of three people in one truck is ......well...... unfathomable to me. 6 weeks with my trainer was difficult. I liked him, we got along just fine, we ate together on occasion, he was a good guy.......I couldn't wait to get off of that truck and go Solo!!! 3 people in an 8'x8' box!!!!! Eff no!!! Remember....you two are going into business together. You will each pull 12 hour shifts. One drives, one sleeps.......day after day after day after day............ Please get the idea out of your head that this will be some sort of Romantic RV excursion........it won't. If you can both make it 6 months without hating each other's guts, you will have a chance. If you make it a year......you have probably figured it out and have a chance of banking some serious cash!!! Good Luck.

My experience training as a team was awesome! We got along with our trainer, and with an upper bunk net, sleeping was not an issue. Yeah hubby and I shared the bottom bunk on resets. But we trained as a team, because we are driving team. We learned a lot, and we are high level drivers in our company.
