I know that's a bunch of bullcrud.
I was parked at a Pilot once and watched a Pilot employee going door to door asking for parking permits for anyone who didn't have one. If they didn't have one and didn't buy one, they were asked to leave.
Why pay for reserved parking when truck stops will let anybody park there for free!?!

I’d just put the receipt in My window and park in the fuel island then. I mean it’s not like they are going to ask you to move?

TA in North Bend doesn’t play around. They’ll kick guys out of pay spots in a heart beat. I’d usually be coming out of Seattle around lunch or early afternoon. If the free spots were full I’d park in a pay spot to shower. The guy cruising the lot was always cool about it, they usually just said you had to move before two hours was up. I’m sure later in the day they wouldn’t give you that same leeway without a receipt. I was always just happy they’d at least let you park and grab a shower during the day before they were full.

I tried to avoid paying but sometimes it's unavoidable.
If I had to pay. I liked the ones that were free if you spent money there. -

I have paid to park many times. I have encountered all the paid spots filled when I have already reserved a spot. Every time, the employee prints out a list of paid Parker’s and kicks out the unpaid people. Every time. It’s not a ‘rip off’. It is needed by some truckers...
Sorry you encountered a bad employee.
I usually don’t park in truck stops. I haul pharmaceuticals and most of the loads you pick up and drive straight to the receiver and stay on their lot. The loads where it’s more that one drive shift, I’ll reserve a spot when I know I’ll be later than 1900. My company reimburses the cost. They would rather the ‘product’ was safe in a truck stop than on some dark street or ramp somewhere. We have had 2 trucks recently where the driver parked on the street (Atlanta and Memphis) and someone took a grinder and cut the hasp making the lock useless. We now have these big locks like this one pictured.....Rocks Thanks this. -
What companies do you all work for that reimburse for reserved parking? Sounds like a great perk!
