Looks like I will be leaving this week for Ft. Wayne, IN to start my training. Can anyone tell me what to expect at this school as far as instructors, hotels and schooling there in general? I plan on driving out to the school from here in central pa but have a concern as far as what happens when schooling is done. Will I go right out on the road with a trainer or will I have a bit of time back home before I get hooked up with my trainer?

who is sending you to c1? in my case i am going through driver solutions.. i ma leaving for c1 indy sunday morning.. and it is my understanding that i will drive out there and drive home when i am finished.. to await orientation..i was told they would send me to orientation by a by gray hound.. so i don't think you have to worry about getting your vehicle home when you go out with a trainer i think they start trying to line up a trainer for you at orientation..... but i got all this info from a recruiter so someone else here might be able to verify that info

I went through Driver Solutions as well. I should have already been there but had a hang up with finding my original Birth Certificate. Had to wait almost a month for it. I have to call in tomorrow morning and finish up with my recruiter but figured I would ask here to see how it really happens. Starting to get the feeling that everything a recruiter tells you isn't quite written in stone.

i hope im making a good choice.....i was a carpenter for 11 years and that industry here has fallen flat on it's face.. not to mention will never retire as a carpenter unless you are in a union.. and those jobs where hard to get when there was plenty of work.. i have no trouble working hard.. keeps my mind occupied when i have something to get accomplished.. im just worried about starting over as the low man on the totem pole.. but in the end im glad to be getting out of carpentry

I know what you mean X Nail Driver. I was working in a custom shop installing everything under the sun in cars. No work now that cars are pretty much just means for transportation and not recreation. I had a long talk with my wife and decided that at the worst we can get through a year of barely seeing each other. My father was a OTR driver for about 15 years, so I have a little insight of the driving. But as far as the "low man on the totem pole", I curious about that myself. Beings we are going to be the "newbies", outside of pay and new equipment, what is it going to effect?

School is the best part, you get $350.00/ week pay,
wait until you get off 'team' or training and you'll wish you had that 350/week pay,
