I live in GA, I had an accident on my truck back in July in Ohio. It did get towed, no other vehicle involved but a fence was damaged. I know the accident is considered a DOT reportable. I got a citation back then for failure to maintain control that was 3 points. However the lawyer I got was able to reduce it to an equipment violation and no points. I am checking my MVR and notice that there was no accident involved with this violation. I don't want to call the state and ask questions because if it is something that is beneficial to me I don't want to mess it up.
My question is,
-Why does it show that there was no accident?
-When applying to jobs how should i present this?
Thank you for your information!
MVR doesn't show accident?

I would keep my mouth shut as far as my MVR goes. The accident will come into play when future companies check with your current company but you can say there was no citation given and back that up with your MVR.

Per the FMCSA, when hiring the new company has to contact all old companies for the last 10 years. Drug tests and safety information has to be given. plus the insurance database has the information.
There is no point lying about it, it will be found and you will not be offered a job.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
What I read no other vehicles were involved, just your truck and a fence?
Right?
If you must when getting a job, tell them you hit a fence, called to report it, was charged as accident.
But you best not do it again.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
