Second load was another tarped load from Chicago to Little Rock..
Tarps were frozen, looked like a truck tire,
I swear they gained 50 pounds.
Tarped high dollar designer fence posts in the snow.

It wasn’t like they were going outdoors...o_O

Coldest i ever tarped was -20 in minnesota . Had to borrow a propane torch from the shipper to heat my storage box because the tarps were frozen to the bottom... couldnt even unroll them, frozen together because i put them away wet. Spent an hour beating it with my winch bar just to get them undone. Normally, many new cuss words would have been invented in this situation but it was so dang cold, i didnt want to open my mouth and lose that precious body heat

Last time I went to MN, i had to use my steel tarps sideways to cover my hood.
The guy beside me helped and we covered his too then eased the steer tires on them so the truck would blow heat at fast idle of 1000, all it would go too,
People must’ve thought we were crazy, but it worked.

That is crazy. I remeber a couple cold nights there . Windchill around -75... unbeliveably cold especially for my arizona blood.... Mostly all i remeber is the wind blowing all my engine heat away . My company had disable high idle and so i stuck a water jug between the fuel pedal and underside of the dash . 1500 rpms all night and the engine barely reached 120 degrees water temp. But was enough to create alittle heat so i could atleast wake up alive the next morning.. that place is way to cold ...

Loaded green Walnut planks down in Mississippi.
Full tarp load, did I mention that it was sort of drizzle rain? Get done, point it north towards delivery. About Kentucky it starts snowing. Still pointed north. Go past Green Bay. Where the heeeeellllll is this place. Keep going north. Find the place, park up in the lot where they said to. It’s like 8:30 PM local time. Had to be 2 or 3 feet of snow on the ground. Go to bed, heat cranked up to 11. Wake up at 7:00 AM, 8 to 10 inches of fresh snow. Wander in and talk to receiver types. (They did have fresh hot coffee ready) says pull up under the overhang, pull your tarps and straps, we’ll come unload you. I said, yeah, thats not going to happen any time soon. The load looked like a block of ice. About an inch thick on the sides, maybe 2 or more on top. Ended up backing inside, put jet heaters around the trailer. About 5 hours later, i got the tarps and straps off, then we find the load is frozen together and to the trailer. That was a long day.

It's starting to drop dow to the 40's at night around my neck of the woods. It's nice to be able to sleep with the windows open again.
