you know, I have been granny putt putt ever since, going the speed limit 100%. It really aggravates me as every single everybody zooms past me blowing my doors off, especially in construction zones. And I wonder, how many of those hot dog truckers passing me are some of the same guys who excoriated me on this thread. Hmmm?
PacoTaco, intrepidor, autopaint and 5 others Thank this. -
You got to be professional no matter your feelings. The risk of losing your license make no sense for speeding. Some day they to will meet the same out come you did. What pride did you have telling your family why you lost your job just always remember that feeling. My truck will run 98 do I drive that fast NO I pass company trucks all the time doing 72 and slow down to 45 in construction zone only to have these 64 mph wonders to pass me a construction zone like the true idiot's they are. Doesn't bother me cause we are doing the right way. Take pride in what you do that it done right and safely will get home remember speed kills.

I know the feeling , my company truck is set to 92.057 mph
I'll be going the speed limit and every moron I passed in Ohio comes flying by me once we enter Indiana construction zoneUturnGirl Thanks this. -
The thing I try to remember is every task takes a certain amount of time.
You can be professional and attentive with your work. That's in my opinion the best way to be effectively efficient.
Or you can cut corners and "Bank" time. Now this works great, sometimes for a long time, but hardly ever permanently.
You will have to pay that time back eventually. Either in the boss's office or on the unemployment line.
Seems you made an honest mistake and got nailed hard for it. I know I've done the same thing myself. Missing a sign and keeping the flow of traffic is easy to do. But I'll bet you'll only do it once
Don't ya wish upper management had such black & white consequences for their errors.
I understand termination but not so far from home terminal. They could have gotten you a go home load then told you face to face.UturnGirl Thanks this. -
