Buying another truck been seeing some 14-15 freightliner mid roofs for 30-37000 with 350-450k miles. Schneider and fleet advantage does not let the truck leave the lot so no checking it.
So today as wondering if anybody had experiences buying from these companies

As always, due diligence. If there hasn't been any emission system preventive maintenance I wouldn't bother. Those trucks are coming up on the age where they're due for some spendy repair bills, hence the reason they're being dumped from the fleet.

If you can't take them off the lot I'd go somewhere else and buy. 100% dealbreaker IMO.

Can't take them off the lot? No test drive? That's not good at all.

No way I'd buy anything that was a daily rental from a leasing company , yes the maintenance is done but in my Rollins leasing days those trucks were pounded to piss buy people that didn't give a hoot .

Exactly. A friend of mine rents single axle tractors from Penske every year to pull his harvest trailers. After watching what some of those tomato haulers put a truck through there's no way in the world I'd want one.

If you get one through say Ryder, get a unique one that was leased to a company the whole time, like Southern States does.
Not a different guy jumping in and out every other day

I will say that the long term lease trucks in private fleets might be good buys tho ...example mine was a 2001 fld condo brand new when I got it .
435 Cummins ..10sp most options tandem axle .
The leasee was a foam manufacturer and it never saw anything over 18k in the trailer .
In the home branch every weekend and washed weekly if not more and I was the only driver .

TheLoadOut, Judge and 650cat425 Thank this.

Yes, the tanker fleet had a lot of gliders
They were Freightliner Columbia or Century class 07-13 or 14s
