Mods: why do my posts keep saying they're flagged for review due to spam? Something like that -- the screen changes so fast I can't really read it. Bottom line is my posts are telling me they need to be screened first. What'd I do? :0

    rookietrucker Thanks this.

Not sure why the last four of your posts went into moderation. I will report and keep a eye on it.

    Bingo! Sort of...

I removed the SD card from the TND and inserted it into a card reader and plugged it into the Mac: came right up.

It appears to be a 4GBSD card with around 2.5 GB used for the Dock install app, voice files for various languages, and map data among a few other things, but NO operating system. This appears to be installed on the device's internal memory.

I tried plugging the TND into the Mac USB while the SD card was removed yet there was still no response from the TND. Re-inserted the SD card and the TND failed to mount that as a drive either.

Something's going on here as fundamentally there's no difference between the USB ports on a PC and a Mac. Everything else works just fine.

looks like we need the TND Dock software installed to talk to the hardware
    for updating
RM will no doubt find a fix for the mac or a different workaround

if you are in a town or on the road and you want to know what city/state you are in.

main menu, choose destination/address/city center, enter a local city close to you and begin route. Once the unit has gone back to the main screen, then choose destination/address/city center, you will now see the city/state you are physically in on the top line.

this screen will not automatically change, but if you go out of this screen and back to the main menu,, then the same screens again you will see the current city/state each time.

    Thanks,
    Mark

It doesn't have a simple "Where am I?" button? That sucks. I mean, geez, that's 9 freakin steps to find out where you are.

try not to read into the function I am giving hints on how to use... this is one of the many features build into the unit..

the "where am I" is there... if you are routed to a destination, then hit the cog in the lower left of the map screen... on the next screen look in the upper left corner....

I am trying to give ideas of what this unit can do, and some of the hidden features to the current users...

I will be covering some of the functions also and how to access.

    thanks,
    Mark

So you absolutely have to be using the routing for the where am I function to work at all? I'm not bashing on it, I'm just digging for particulars.

As an example on the 465t you hit menu>settings>where am I? and that's it. It works weather the unit is routing or not. Actually, if you just hit your icon on the screen the where am I screen loads. One button press.

If you're not using the routing and you have to go that far to figure out where you are on the RM, it's not a good setup. I'd rather go inside and ask the lady at the fuel desk than fumble through a dozen menus.
