I hate to say it out loud… But I love my ‘automated manual?’in this 2020 Cascadia. It’s got to be the way Crete has your set up, snack bar. I have the performance mode along with the economy mode. I do not have manual mode but I can manually shift gears if the computer let me! Ha! The Jake brake is super strong compared to those Magnum Pete’s and my fuel mileage is incredible...
With the creep mode I can hit the dock nice and soft. It backs up really easy.
The biggest thing I hate about this truck you touched on...is not having access to the under bunk area from the right side. The side box on the left has my fire extinguisher and power inverter in there so it is super small. There is a plug on the inverter so I can plug my battery charger for the blower in there. The other thing that annoys me is I can’t open the drivers door with the brakes pushed in. It starts beeping like crazy. I used to open my door when backing for an easier look…So I had to adjust how I back. Thankfully my company turned off all the radar assisted nanny warming alarms… Except for the back up beeper and open door with the brakes pushed in. But I’ll take that over the lane departure, adaptive cruise control,Side radar etc.
Hopefully yours doesn’t have the electrical gremlins I have. The radio locks up frequently, the heating/air conditioning sometimes malfunctions and stops blowing. The blower is still working but the air isn’t coming out where you want it to and it won’t switch. The only way to fix it is to stop and switch the batteries off and back on to reset it. It can be a royal pain in the ###…
Hopefully you get used to it… or learn to live with it at least....

A few weeks ago I drove one of our newer trucks because mine had to go to the dealer. That one had a lot more power with the same engine, and the transmission did seem happier.
But automated or automatic, the one I drive is a boat anchor. Stupid thing is starting to act funny shifting between 4 and 6.Jarhed1964, ncmickey, Bumper and 2 others Thank this. -

I need to dig out my Wylie hard hat for the interior. I have already cracked the top of my head more times than I can count on the stupid ladder that is mounted to the under side of the top bunk...and I am just sorting out my stuff. All the supposed design time they put into these new Cascadias, you think they would figure a way to conceal the ladder IN the top bunk framework instead of just bolting it to the bottom.
