Dudes roll the dice all the time. In fact there was a Russian or Serbian dude with a skate board that violated the restriction in the restaurant that was saying he was like 20K and thought he was going over.

That dude is on the hook for all the clean up too, if he violated the restriction. DPS time, the whole nine.

Yeah I agree... I was waiting out the wind in Sidney and I had 28k in the box. I become REALLY cautious when I see wind speeds in excess of 50 mph recorded by local weather sensors.

I don’t think he had, he used to not run that way, but lately he’d been running up there and on to CA, said he’d come out of Montana with that load.

Did WY finally put a number on what a "light" vehicle is??? Ive asked several WYDOT officers over the years about it and they always tell me "If you get blown over when the Light Vehicle Restriction is posted you are on the hook for it, reguardless of weight."

The signs used to say 24K or less. They may have amended it if one or two clowns that were 24.2K wrecked lol.

Once it get going over 40 I park. Regardless of weight. How do you actually know where the threshold is unless you experience it?

    He’s had a rough year.
Before this covid came down he had the flu, some receiver in CA panicked and called in on him, he got 14 day quarantine, only with to find out he had flu and pneumonia.
Then 2 months later he got covid, was in hospital 2 weeks, during that stent his gf left him with all his stuff from the house.
They checked him for sleep apnea, said he had it though he wasn’t sleeping in hospital much cause he was on respirator.
LS made him do another med cert since he had sleep apnea, now this when he got back on feet.
I don’t think I could help him even now with a careless driving ticket.
That’s like a 15 over or worse, plus now a roll over.
It’s going to be very difficult, I didn’t know what to tell him, except get everything out cause he lives over by OK line, and his truck is in WY.

Lol... Yeah there is no weight specified anymore. I am constantly getting calls from rookie drivers at my company asking what a Light High Profile Vehicle is and if they are heavy enough to continue. If I can I stop and look at the usual resources I check myself and tell them what I would do, but I'm very careful to make sure they understand that they are the captain of that ship, so its thier call. Reguardless they will be responsible for whatever happens.

I'll usually buck a 40 mph wind all day as long as I've got 30k + in the box. If its over 50 I will usually park, unless it's a nearly perfect tail wind and I'm grossed out at 78k+.

I have, once, drove through when speeds where recorded between 60 and 70 mph... NEVER again EVER!!!!! I think the only reason I made it was because it was a near perfect head wind 95% of the way.
