That being the case, and I believe that, because most truckers work some crazy hours, I advise you to get some sort of monitoring device to track your sleep. I did not want to take the test, because it might open a can of worms. But I did get a Fitbit and this is what it will show you. At least you will have some idea of how much rest you are getting. You should get at least an hour of deep sleep every night. This is when your body heals. Notice I did not wake up during the night, so I am pretty sure I don't have apnea. After buying one you can go advanced for $79 a year and it will tell you a lot more.

Very biased information no doubt sourced from the fine folks pedaling CPAP equipment,,,bunch of maggots IMO
We don’t have any of this sleep apnea testing nonsense forced on us in Canada

And yet they refuse to follow the law and do actual studies on apnea. And yes, congress passed a law to require fmcsa to do studies to see if apnea is needed before they can require it.

They get around it by simply recommending it....

I think the FMCSA should just disqualify all the drivers.
Make us all draw $1000/week unemployment, and let them show us how it’s supposed to be done.

And our physical is nothing more than a cash grab. Read eye chart to prove you aren't blind and a blood pressure check to prove you still have a pulse :biggrin_2559:

I'm not taking a pay cut, lol. Make it 5k per week, and we can talk.

I totally agree! I spoke to a driver several weeks ago who is has actually filed a lawsuit against a ME who has poisoned his medical because he called BS on OSA guidelines! He asked the ME to show him where they are! ME ran him out of his exam room. Turns out this ME also is part of a group of MEs that holds an interest in a series of sleep labs, and CPAP machine sales. I have no issue with drivers being safe. I DO have a big problem with MEs having anything to do with sleep labs OR selling CPAPs.

Trucking aside, my regular household overhead is 6k per month. 1k per week would bury us. It's fun for me to talk a little smack, but the reality is, I don't have much choice in the matter. I have to make money. This overhead is left over from when I was making oilfield money, and 6k per month was nothing, when you grossed 22k.
