And if anyone in Crete corporate reads my posts, I am in no way unhappy with the company itself. It is hands down 100% better than what it was when I left 7 or 8 years ago. The pay is better, the miles are better and the overall way they work with the driver is a lot better. My whole beef is with these #### trucks, specifically, these Freightliners (I can't form an opinion on the KW's because I got to drive one all of 56 miles.) And the brief time I had the Prostar, it was way better in terms of power and driveability than the Freightliners.

I have to admit, the problem I had with the last Freightliner I blamed on the nanny-cam system in the windshield...and that wasn't what was causing the problem (at least in terms of triggering the inaccurate distance warning chime). This truck does the same thing the other one did(at a much lower volume) and it doesn't have that system, just the integrated OnGuard, so that has to be the problem. Example, coming back out of GA, somewhere between the state line and Spartanburg, I was cruising along in the middle lane, passing a vehicle that had just got on the interstate. One of those siding contractors that has those full size vans with scaffolding and ladders stacked 8 feet above the roof passed me on the left, then cut me off short (the OnGuard said 17')...did the truck react...nope. I cancelled the cruise, and backed off, at 175' I hit the resume...and the ####ing truck threw itself into 10th gear, high jake and hit the brakes. Now, it didn't do #### at 17', but it panics at 175'? And alignment isn't the issue, it saw the vehicle at 17' and did nothing. Plus, the truck is the most gutless engine I have ever had. The '93 Freightliner I owned with an 11.1 Detroit pulled better. And I would like to find the programmer who programs the DT12 transmission and punch him/her in the throat with spiked brass knuckles... repeatedly. Why on earth do they think it's a good idea to make the transmission shift into 12th at 47mph pulling 35,000 lbs...on a hill.

Which is why I had the shop put manual mode in my truck and I removed a few of the accessories.

    We hire out of Florida...

I need to gross upper $70k's minimum, reasonable health insurance for my wife and I and truck options that don't include driving a Freighliner, I might look into them.

Yeah, but it took me almost 10 yrs to get po'd enough to leave Crete...I had my fill of Magnum within the 1st 12 months, then tried to adapt enough to survive 6 more months before I jumped ship.

Clearly, the problem here is the human element. Remove the driver and then there is no one complaining about the computer. Any legal and medical expenses resulting from the accidents said computer creates are just a budget line item to be dealt with in Finance. Keep checking your common sense a the door and accept your computer overlords everyone.

I feel for you. I had all that stuff at Ozark. Now I’m local in 2016 Mack Vision. Outward camera that I have no idea if it works. And the Bendix lane departure crap. I can keep turning it off but it comes back on within 5 minutes.

And the huge power plant of this beast? Mack MP7. I would hate it if I weren’t local.

The Pinnicle I had at Wy-Moore had the MP8, even at it's worst when I had an emissions sensor going bad, it would pull circles around these Cascadias...these are bottom line crap trucks.

We had the MP8 in some oilfield trucks I drove. Which this had one.

It’s not going to be 70K per year but look at Venezia if your comment about being a local bulk hauler has any validation, good equipment, fair pay, and local to your area.
