Actually it is an option, slow down to 65 on a 1250 mile trip (for example) compared to 78 is three hours. Let the idiots in the pickups go there own speed.

I worked construction as a driver for a little while but coming from the trucking industry I was very concerned about fuel cost. I talked to my company about it and they really were not concerned about it so I did not worry about.
Are you a company driver ? If so ask your company if they even monitor it ? -

Whatever they call mp8 445C, would fall flat right around there 1250-1300 with a 100k frac pump. -
Consequences are much higher fuel consumption and substantially decreased engine life from accelerated engine wear.
Peak TQ in a diesel is a measure of engine efficiency.
A lengthy discussion ..but the longest engine life is peak Tq and slightly above , operation at peak HP or above is the shortest engine life and least efficiency.AModelCat Thanks this. -
