So just a quick update. I left ShipEX in October and went to Ashley furniture as a PTP driver. Home on weekends mostly stay within a 400 mile radius of my home with occasional run out further into Texas, Nevada and Colorado. Little different than what I'm use to because we run to the same places a lot. Mostly go to Ashley drop yards, distribution centers or sometimes a store. Usually I take a load out and deadhead back. Pay started out just as they promised with $1400 to $1600 gross. (Ashley doesn't do per diem so that's fully taxable ouch!) However last 2 months things have dropped off significantly sometimes 3 days at home waiting for a load, bad load scheduling costing me income potential etc etc.. Just FYI California base Ashley is totally different than other states obviously because of CA crazy labor rules etc. So Ashley in other states seem to run smoother therefore providing consistent pay. I'm not certain but that's the info I have collected so far.
I have spoken to couple of managers about my pay dropping off and they have said it will get better that they are making a lot of changes right now and things will improve.
Well, I like to give them the benefit of the doubt but I won't tolerate being lied to or incompetence. They said Average was $72,000 yr and up to $78,000 as ptp driver. Currently I'm no where near hitting that if you Average out my pay the last few weeks. We will see what happens but I am bit disappointed Ashley has a lot of great things with benefits being home more etc..but if the pay isn't right it will be hard to hold out.JoeyJunk, mushroom1464, motocross25 and 4 others Thank this. -

Per diem is great until you need to file for unemployment or disability ever and they base how much you receive off your claimed taxable income. Also hurts when applying for loans and other stuff.
