Under certain conditions the cables do okay. Not as good as the chains but okay.
The problem is when you get into something that's too much for the cables and they start to fall apart will you be able to find a good spot to stop, pull the cables off, and put on the chains?
We tried cables and they do what they're designed to do. They just don't do it for very long or very well either.

I am fighting for your rights to change broker lies!!

Been pulling exclusive for a grain broker for almost a year.
Now, he’s being shady, taking $1.00/ton for “getting” the load, then charging 10%.
So, since he started taking a buck per ton for 2 weeks, totaling $250 extra away, I’ve went to hauling for his competitor.
He only takes 2.5% and a direct shipper with dedicated run for next 3-4 months.

Big time broker still wanting help for his customers.
He got a new guy who got lost trying to find his way to Omaha NE.
Then got lost trying to drive back...
How do you forget which way you just drove the day before..?

Im not worried about it. Chains fail also...the odds of all the cables failing at 1 time is slim to none... If you think the cables are bad , the socks are 10 times worse...Like i said just trying them out... Running the same routes everyday i must have been over these mountain passes 100 times by now...if i learned anything about chaining up is u fix/replace the bad links, before they get bad so it doesnt leave u stranded halfway up the hill

I run wide based singles for drives. I have noted that sometimes it seems chains are more problematic.
For a good part of our deliveries, we get out on secondary roads. These tend to get a bit less attention than mains. The problem is the pack snow/ice. Chains seem to want to not bite in that hard pack ice. Wondering if cables, with a somewhat lower profile would work a bit better, keeping more tire contact as well.

I saw one of those too...think it would be quite handy , but definatly some problems would arise in the winter time.
