Still at second stop of the twofer.
I have a 2 pm appointment. Receiver says they shut down at 2pm, but they'll let me unload.
Guy signs the papers, says I'll be back to pull the sample. An hour goes by, nothing.
I bang on the office door, nothing.
I call the number on the bol. Nothing.
I see a guy switching railcars go into an outbuilding.
It's the SAME GUY!
I said, "What gives? You never came back for the sample!"
He says, "I'll get it while you're pumping".
I say, "I didn't start pumping. You never said to start pumping."
"YOU HAVEN'T STARTED PUMPING YET?!?"
"No."
"I told ya go ahead."
Well, I really wanna just salvage what's left of my "weekend", so I tell him that it wasn't clear to me, can I pump now.
Yep, go ahead.
In fact, he just came over and apologized for the confusion. I told him that especially since this is my first time in here, I wasn't gonna start until it was CLEAR to me I could do so. Another truckin' day.
Unfortunately, this is the second time I've lost time because plant personnel and the local guys have worked out a modified system that does not conform to established procedures.
Those drivers should know better, and the first time a plant auditor catches them and asks "How come you cut the seals without authorization?", they're gonna find out the hard way that the correct answer is NOT, "Because Jerry told me to go ahead and cut the seals, hook up, and he'll be over here in a minute, like we do every day."
Jerry is going to say, "I've never seen this guy before in my life, and I would NEVER say anything like that to a driver."
Load rejected, customer pissed, contract lost, driver in trouble. Same old song.
What if it Snows?

My abs trailer light wasn't shoy up in the dash when I cycled the key. It was a fuse. I like it when it's easy. They have coffee in Ohio. Granted it's $2+ a cup. But they have it.

So I feel like a Yo-yo today. Holcomb to Dodge City, Back to Garden City, then down to Liberal. Only to start trekking east on US54 and hook back up with US400. Had stronger winds on the last stretch than anything WY threw at me the other night. But fully loaded with some Beef heading to the NE. Also talked to my DM this morning. Updated her on the clock. She's like, just run short days for your recaps coming up. We'll just repower you when you get it closer. So that is good. I won't have to deal with 3 stops.
Also, small question. I know Off Duty doesn't impact your 14, unless you're doing splits. But does it impact your 70? From the way the QUALCOMM was showing. I believe it does. As my 14 was going down as I was on break. But my 70 didn't move.thelushlarry, Lumper Humper, Speed_Drums and 4 others Thank this. -
