It’s a customization for you guys, it’s not something across all of PeopleNet unless you’re beta testing it for the rest of us.

Now that the mph is displayed on Peoplenet ...does it make easier...for Crete to ding a driver....for over 65 mph..when going downhill

The world has shifted a little in terms of weather this year. A month ago, it was snowing in south TX. The day before yesterday, WY was slightly breezy. Yesterday, from Grand Island, NE all the way to Boonville, MO, the wind was blowing hard enough that it felt like it was a typical day back in WY. Hopefully that has passed, I'm tired of looking like I'm driving drunk.

Mine would ding me if I exceeded 72 for more than 5 seconds, even if the speed limit is higher than that...if they start doing it more strictly than then they'll just have to ding me...as gutless as these trucks are with this stupid auto-box, I need all the downhill speed I can get so I can make it up the next hill. There were hills in WY the other day I was down in the lower 30's waiting for gutless to downshift to the next lower gear (with only 40k lbs in the fridge). Not having the ability to force a downshift early sucks.

The kind of phone you have plays only a limited roll in whether you stay connected. Your phone needs to support the bands used by your carrier and an older phone might not support everything. It can also depend on the size of the phones internal antenna, so a larger phone could hold larger components.

Only ATT and Verizon have the best nationwide coverage. I’ve not looked T-mobile and Sprint since the merger so maybe they’ve improved. Third party resellers and MVNOs use space on the big 4 (3?) networks. The big 4 (3?) give preferential treatment to their own subscribers over other users of their networks.

It’s possible to get cellular boosters ($500ish); they come with a larger antenna and then a small cellular repeater that has a WiFi like coverage area.

I haven’t looked at what’s currently available for hotspots in a few months. I got lucky and I’m grandfathered into a good plan. I am following Starlink and while not cheap it could be a game changer regardless of whether you get the service. ATT and Verizon might bring back unlimited or make better hotspot plans to compete next year.

Mobile Internet Resource Center has a lot of good info. ATT should still have a $20 unlimited tablet postpaid plan (the prepaid was discontinued) that’s available as a standalone. Tablets can then tv out video to a larger screen.

What kind of inverters are they putting in the trucks? Our freighters have the Eaton True Sine Wave Inverter and the low voltage cutoff can be adjusted. Never had a problem when I was in my freightliner.

They swapped me to a Kenworth and the inverter would start beeping before the auto start kicked in. I was able to adjust the cutoff down but sometimes the truck had trouble starting via auto start and low voltage. Key start would still be fine.

What’s Creaffer’s PC policy? If the nearest safe location is full I get to keep going until I find parking. I unloaded in Cincinnati at 1am and went to 8 TSs looking for parking under PC. I just noted in my logs and took a picture of the lot.

I don’t always end up where I want to or get to move the load forward but at least I’m not getting violations.

This was an old tongue in cheek comparison, not meant to be taken seriously

Not sure of the brand, but the inverter is going bad. 2 4 min cook cycles and the melting wire smell coming out of the cooling fan was a dead giveaway.

There is a difference between using PC because you ran out of hours because the customer took to long and purposely going to a customer knowing you're not gonna have the hours to leave, and even the most inexperienced DOT cop can see the difference...and if I'm gonna be pulled in and inspected, it will be when I have done something questionable...it's almost like their violation senses start tingling.

That must suck. I force a downshift from 12 to 11 at 63-64 mph. The truck will wait till 52-53 mph which causes it to lug some before dropping to 10. I can make it up Fancy Gap in 11 at 50+ with 27000 on board... left on its own, it’s 40 in 10th if lucky....
