Its the whole "pre trip inspection" thing that has me bugged.
Man, no one wants to do all that first thing in the morning.
Perhaps if we could be more flexible about the whole thing.
It is what it is. Perhaps @otterinthewater has some tips.austinmike, kemosabi49, Rideandrepair and 5 others Thank this. -
Drove to Atlanta in tain.
Drove from Atlanta to Knoxville in tain.
The tain stopped long enough this morning for me to get into the Waffle House in Calhoun, GA, without getting wet.
The Allatoona River is expected to crest its 7 foot flood stage by noon tomorrow.
Five county area in northern GA/southern TN flood warning, last I heard from NWS.
TL/DR; If you're in GA heading towards TN and you're not getting tained on, you will be soon.
Got the time and desire for rhino sleep tonight. G'nite all.Rideandrepair, lovesthedrive, LoSt_AgAiN and 7 others Thank this. -

So I think I figured out the sweet spot of this new KW I am driving. The 21s I was driving had been broken in at 62 MPH. I have tried for the last 3 days at that speed and gotten nothing better than 7.6 MPG. But when I put her at 64 today on cruise. She seems to be picking up her MPG. I'm guessing the last driver was just a hammer down type. I'll see if I can get back up to my normal 8.6 MPH tomorrow. Filled up at a little off the map fuel stop today But it was the cheapest fuel along my whole route to NJ. Topped her off. So I don't have to worry about fuel till I get to a more civilized place afterwards.

Well.
TX bound, first time going back to TX in over a year.
Sat through what may have been a tornado about 4 this morning, wind hit my truck and felt like someone backed into the front of my truck, felt like I moved back about 4 feet.
Then tain/hail beat everything so loud I couldn’t hear my radio that I leave on at night.
About 10 minutes of that and it was over, went back to sleep until someone called to “see what you were up too.” Like I’d be out tom cattin’ around after a very long day and night.
I had only Unloaded/DH 50 miles loaded/unloaded drove 650 miles getting done near 0200, but who knows, maybe they thought I was going to meet myself somewhere along they way.
Maybe the 0600 wake up was needed..?
But I chose this TX run since it was only 325 miles or so, so I can rest tonight.
here’s the only TomCat I see happening now.
