Maybe he’s setting himself up for a quick, safe, and easy way out of there. Some locals that know the patterns of particular stops tend to do these things. So when the circus starts to fill up the lot we can step out of the place nice and easy.

Because people are extremely lazy now. I stopped at the Pilot in Lamar PA to fuel and shower yesterday. I got fuel and then parked in one of the (literally) 50 open spots. When I got out of my truck another driver pulled parallel with the Cat scale and walked inside with his shower bag. Then another pulled through the fuel island and walked over to McDonald's. Lazy and inconsiderate drivers are have taken over this industry and it's only gonna get worse. I woke up at the Loves in Staunton VA a few weeks ago and trucks were parked 5 wide against the curb right in front of me, no way for me to swing it out and get out of my spot. I pounded on 3 doors and asked 3 drivers to GTF out of the way. Now there's an open spot that I just opened up, and you would THINK one of them would take it. Nope, right back to where they were before to block in 4 more drivers. End of rant

My truck is 80’ long, tandems fixed to the rear, add a wide load and I park where I can get out in the am .
If I have a 15 million dollar C-17 motor on I get creative so only the dumbest driver can bump it. If a motor is bumped they will not put it on a plane until it is dissembled and inspected.
your boss doesn’t want that bill.Buc, truckguy391, JoeyJunk and 4 others Thank this. -

I always wondered why some people park on rest area ramps when there is 10+ spots available at rest area. I’m seeing this in afternoon or evening.
