I was driving towards Alcoa TN on hwy 441 and saw this sign. Not that I ever plan to use it but was just wondering if the term "Inappropriate" means a ticket or just that it is not recommended?
Is an "Inappropriate Truck Route" illegal to use?

Wth? Yellow is usually just a caution.
Weird!Opendeckin, stillwurkin, 062 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The silhouette with a line through it would be enough for me. Even being technically legal (if it is) doesn't mean you can make it with a 53 footer. Tennessee has some seriously bendy back roads.

I don’t think it’s worded in a way that a cop can enforce.
I wouldn’t doubt that it was put up by HOA or just a unhappy resident.
@86scotty is from somewhere in that neighborhood.tscottme, Opendeckin and Jaebo74 Thank this. -
411 is a main hy thru the redneck riv, and during tourist times it can take way too much time to pass thru there than its worth??

You could always try that road just to see what happens.
Who knows, you might be the next video posted here of what not to do.91B20H8, Suspect Zero, tscottme and 3 others Thank this. -
I think that Maryville/Alcoa and Wears Valley are some of the prettiest places I've ever seen.
But with that said, I definitely would not want to drive a truck across 321. Best stick to I-140.Jaebo74 Thanks this. -

Legally you can't get cited for disobeying the sign. What I was taught is, black and white signs are the law because the law is written in black and white (in the law books). Yellow is a warning color only, but you can always get in trouble for disregarding a warning. What I'm saying is, if someone decided to take that route and crashed, they'd probably be cited for careless driving and not for disregarding the sign

Is maybe the road weight rated beyond the "warning"?
