I have been doing it long enough where i have passed multiple patrol vehicles. Like you said, im sure if they see an 18 wheeler with a reefer, they might be inclined to light them up. But who knows. Construction vehicles may be on ignore list. however, roads with an actual weight sign, no. I feel like i caused a bit of a stir. I should have clarified local constructuion triaxle. Not otr sleeper truck with box trailer. So for this i appologise to everyone i stirred up

Some industries like food and beverage service it's common occurrence to be on weight restricted roads. My Baltimore run had a few wacky 5 ton limits in inner city w/o any bridges. The cops knew us food guys had to be there everyday but i guarantee an OTR sleeper and a 53 would get pulled over to at least have a talking to

I once accidentally missed a truck drive and pulled into an employee parking lot at a customer. They had a long narrow drive and it offered no chance to get turned around. Only way out was the way I came in. I called the local non emergency police number and they had a very nice cop out there within minutes. He stopped traffic while I backed out. This was a small town in Missouri about 15 years ago.

2 things download google earth and google maps.... DO NOT USE THEM AS A TRUCK GPS... but if you find yourself in a situation google earth you can get a 3 look at what’s ahead of you.. same with google maps, click on a local business and it lets you go turn by turn ..if you can develop a plan to get turned around without putting yourself in a bad/worse. Make sure there are no bridges, no low electrical wires. And that you have a safe space to turnaround/get out of your situation. If you see that you have nothing. Just call local pd to escort you. Just don’t get yourself into something worse and make sure you have a plan. With that being said google maps and earth are now 100percent up to the moment. Get out and look if the plan still looks sketchy

I did that a couple times.
Drove past a cop once that was clearly at his house for the end of his shift because I saw him shake his head at me from his porch and then went in.
Was in that town in new York that the soap comes from for the flying j.
I picked the corner that didn't have any signs or poles and let my tandems go thru that person's yard.
Since I had super singles it didn't leave divots just a giant mark
Worked out to!!! Because the place I was going to docks were set up to my left when I got there. If I went the legal way it would've been a blindsider.Speed_Drums Thanks this. -

Paid 600$ for something that half the time isn’t worth the roll of toilet paper I use to wipe my ### with.
Buy you a rand McNally road atlas, check the directions the GPS gives you.
Download google earth look at any turns that might prove difficult I’ve added 20-30miles just to avoid some #### turns random McNally wanted me to make. (Random is not a typo)
iOS would have taken me straight out of a location in AL I decided to trust my gps instead. So here I am lost on county roads where the men are real and the goats are scared with no atlas (loaner truck)
always call your customer if you’re unsure about directions in their city. I used to be hard headed and make excuses now call till I get directions.
learn what states it’s legal to do a uturn in and how to do them SAFELY. If you can’t then do the turn left back up turn left. Preferably at a 4 way stop.
In the end you have to make a judgement call. Can you get out on your own? Or should you call the cops?
just stop before you tear something up.John E. and JSanborn103 Thank this. -
Municipalities can throw them up for 0 reason. There’s a few in Missouri I’d tear down if they weren’t watched by cameras.
They were placed because some prissy people were crying about trucks inconveniencing them. (It was a fairly common short cut for the log trucks)God prefers Diesels and Don379 Thank this.
