If its the interface for your eld thats hooked to the truck ecm, an iphone will work fine (i assume, i use android)

If younare running it as a paper logbook replacement, bear in mind you must be capable of printing it

(Email to self and have printer)

If the ELD is app then you can probably use IPhone or tablet or both. My company use KeepTrukin. It's an app that that run on the tablet they give us. I could use my phone if I want to use it and connect to KeepTrukin brain that it hooked to the truck ECM and engine. Part of the setup it plugged into the truck main computer and it can read the engine and has GPS. So the app just connects to KeepTrukin system in the truck.

Unless a truck has 1999 or older engine you can't run paper log or just app. You have to run the setup that hooks into ECM and has GPS.

We use KeepTruckin where I work too. I have the app on my IPhone and it connects via blue tooth when I get in my truck every morning. It's also connected to a dash cam (outward facing).

    Brandt Thanks this.

The dash cam on what I drive is low light really wide angle. I've only checked it out once.

The smartphone is a bit small to see. We were supposed to get a tablet, but I haven't talked to anyone using one, and my Acer Spin 3 is not practical.
