Hogwash. At least if I get stopped at 69mph in a 70mph zone I have a rock-solid defense

It's driving for 1 minute when the guidance specifically doesn't allow the move.

Just because you don't like the answer, doesn't make it invalid you know. You've been answered several times already in this thread.

The answer is this: there is no defined time or distance. Unlike a speed limit, the determination is made at random by a DOT officer who may have been treated badly by his wife or superiors, or maybe the officer just doesn't like the way you look.

What a weak, weak system, embraced by weak men

But you didn't get written up for 69 in a 70 in fact you didn't get written up at all. You PC'd for 4 hours and you said the cop was pleasant and didn't write you up so I have to ask what exactly is your problem?

If concrete rules for this are eventually written I guarantee you won't be able to PC for 4 hours. As my granddad used to say, be careful what you wish for because you may get it.

I still prefer being in the grey area vs. Log book falsifying area. I'd rather have it than not have it at all.
I can sneak back home and be in the grey area vs sneak back home and be in no driving allowed area.

The concept of PC in a commercial truck simply contradicts the purpose of HOS - limiting the time a person can spend behind the wheel. It should not matter if it is PC or driving on Duty, the activity is exactly the same. It 'fatigues' a driver the same way. They invented it and said it must be reasonable.
Gave a few examples... like the one that you can PC from a terminal to home but not from a receiver to home. The terminal could be 400 miles away and the receiver could be 50 miles away. So in which case would it be more reasonable to PC home?

Guess that makes you weak as the rest of us. Unless you no longer drive.
