I found an old Howard Trucking hat brand new last week at the house, I quit there in 06, they went out of business in 09.
I used to have jackets from there, they were about as useless as the company, you’d freeze wearing them, but they looked nice

I looked to see if they were a company I would know, but I don’t think I did. Looks like the old man passed away in 2009, so that’s probably why the company went under. It looks like his family has a bunch of new companies since his death, though.

Yeah, Danny, he and his brother Boyce had it, Boyce started it, but was actually killed in a wreck with a semi.
Then Danny and Eugene, (another of the brothers) took over, then Danny bought out Eugene, ran it from about 1988 on.
Before they closed, he made sure all drivers had a bus ticket home, even took some personally to Little Rock to the bus terminal.
About 2 months after they closed, he committed suicide in his office at the terminal.

Here’s one of their old trucks, 2000 Pete,

(I’m home until my load appointment at 430 so I could get a photo of one of my old trucks)

And we can’t get any of those bankers in jail for the 2008 collapse? We just can’t do it? Jesus.

I have a couple more, I’m sure there’s very few photos of their trucks left, I still have a card.

This was either a 97 or 98, it was before the Pete, it had a 470 60 series and 10 speed.
    Good old truck.

There’s the old card, they had 2 of those trucks, they were either 94 or 95, I’m thinking 94s

    #### nice looking trucks. A shame the company wasn’t a good fit.
