I’m not thanking you because you don’t think I’m crazy. I’m thanking you for not dismissing my experience. I hope, at least, you have a good rest of the day and stay safe. This goes out to all the rest of you on this forum..

I'm not dismissing you because I know its true, not just because of race, but also age, the way you dress, there an endless things people are prejudice about. Sticks in my craw, yup it does. People are in general trash, also you might find letting Sapp Bro's know how you were treated may do more good than you think.

I can only think the reason men in a truckstop at 4 in the morning arent singled out as sex workers is probably because the math doesnt add up that way.

Look, ill be blunt, you are in an extremely male dominated industry in trucking, female representation is enough that i probably only *see* one or two females drivers a day in a truck.

If someone made a habit of assuming most males that walked into their shop at 4 am looking for a shower were prostitutes, they would be wrong close to 99% of the time.

Its simply not the case the other way around, its not 100%, but its significantly over 10% I'd wager (its typically going to be in cities and large stops, far less common at smaller and rural truck stops)

The question of why he gets approached is a harder one for me to answer, but 3 hypotheses.
    1. Hes wearing clothing or acting in a manner that is a signal in or among male sex workers
    2. Those old men are just "in the trade" but harder to pick out as being sex workers(same general rule on locations to be found i would wager? Large city truckstops)
    3. He's just such a great looking hunk of meat, everyone should be graced with ummm, yeah that.

Nothing against your man but its likely to be a combination of 1 and 2. Maybe going to large city truckstops frequently wearing a rainbow flag is sending mixed signals. 30 years ago at least that would have been very unambiguous, the gay male game around sex is quite a bit more direct than the games males and females play between themselves. He could be signalling that he was an ally to his lgb pals, but he was also signalling something quite different to those men that approached him.

As a general rule, I have learned that, the larger the urban area you are in, the ruder and lazier the people are working there. Definitely not with every place, but overall that's the way it seems to be in my experience.

Based on your encounter as stated, there is a good chance you just encountered a rude person. But even if the persons motives were racist, does it really matter? Be stronger than the person that slighted you, and move on. And btw, racism exists in every race. I don't think it will ever go away completely, but the vast majority of people are not racist, just as the vast majority are not rude.

Most of the the travel industry is short on help. Thanks to dip #### in DC it pays more to sit at home smoke dope and fornicate than work.
Sapp Bros has a shortage of cleaning staff. Yes some drivers take 45 min showers. No consideration but that’s for another day.
I highly doubt she was being racist. As others have said. They are paid cheaply most of the employees do multiple jobs.
