Is there still 4,5, 6 or 8 switchyard tracks crossing Crump about a block
off the bridge end? Used to dump the "middle buster" sized chunks
of ice off my landing gear bouncing over them. Sleet, snow, freezing rain
collected from E. St Louis down to about Sikeston. No I55 back in the day.
Off bridge, Crump down to Lamar/US 78, out thru Capleville (about
where scales are now) then 2 lane hill and dale on to Holly Springs
scales. Cross HS scales by 2 AM to have the hogs in West Point for the
    4 AM kill time.

When I was planning my food/fuel stops from Emporia KS to Lincoln, NE, I was looking in my truckstop guide.

Looked under "Kansas", then flipped thru "Kentucky", and was genuinely surprised there was no listing for "Knee-braska".

It took me a moment to recalibrate and go to the "N"s.

    True story.

    I blame Dave.

Best riding cabover I ever drive was 9670 international..
With a 350Cummins, 9 speed direct. would eat the ascend out of any
400 from Tupelo to Miami on the old roads.

Try a light stroke with a cold chisel down the threads of top edge,
Reviewing some of you mechanical problems, ya think maybe a lease with full maintenance might be worthwhile?

Well, the sky here in Syracuse, NE got all dark, massive sheets of tain accompanied by an electric light show, then my phone started buzzing to tell me I'm in a "tornado warning" for the next half hour, and a "tornado watch" for the next 3 hours.

All I could think was, "Even if this truck flips over on its SIDE, the electricity STILL won't go out. Isn't that COOL?!"

Gonna keep my boots on, and watch a little Netflix. When the weather calms down I'll shift into my jammers and hit the rack. Happy Friday to all, at home or on the road.

I’m thinking the one I drove had a 365 Cummins, it would run, had a 9 speed, you’d drop one gear on tiger mountain going to OKC pulling 47k steel.
Then you now get into a 455-470 and you drop 2-3 gears.
    Makes sense.
