That's how Wylie did us Moore guys...at first, our mechanics weren't even allowed to DOT one of their trailers until the shop manager in Spring Hill locked down one of their specialized trailers because it was overdue for it's yearly. When the maintenance VP called him and ordered him to release it, he told them no, and if someone came in and tried to pull it out, he would call the Gardner PD who had commercial enforcement officers, and they would be waiting for them to drive by and shut them down on the side of the road...I miss that type of boss...he knew just how to screw with management without getting canned.

I almost called the flatbed dedicated terminal of AAA out of Ocala about a regional job hauling some sort of aluminum products on a conastoga trailer...glad I didn't now.

I must be hauling some secret stuff. The CSR messaged me asking permission to give this shipper (who I can't name in a public forum) my cell phone number...which I did. Then when they dispatched me on it. There was an entire message dedicated to the rules this shipper has in order to haul their stuff. No stopping within 200 mi, no back roads, tell dispatch when I am going to be out of the truck, tell them when I am back, lock everything down and take keys with me when I am away from the truck, no passengers allowed...and the list goes on. When I told the wife about all these rules, her 1st comment was 'I must be hauling Depends to a secure location so they have them on hand when the President pays a visit to that area'...yes, my wife has as sick of a sense of humor as I do. I told her, he must like warm buns because it's a 72° continuous load.

We have the same thing with one of our customers. Once you do it then it’s just another load. Except if it’s a super high value load, which I’ve hauled twice. Then everytime you stop you have to call in, get back in the truck and call in again to advise them it’s you driving the truck. Stop without calling, then they call you immediately. Stop for your 30, call in, stop for fuel, call in, stop to piss, call in, stop to take a 10, call. Not bad on a short run, but from San Bernardino to Sandston Virginia for 5 days, then it becomes annoying.

Well it’s in the shop and I’m down the street at my fav local diner having a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich.
Shop manager said we have had a lot of these inverter problems. When they were installed the installing shop failed to secure the ground wire. They check every truck coming into our shop now for this. But since I’m an OTR guy and don’t come in very often mine hasn’t been checked yet. We shall see.

I had to do something similar when I hauled a load of lottery tickets. I had to call in when I was an hour from delivery. I had to verify that the person I met worked with the place that I was delivering to.
