Heard this the last time I was at the Amish Feed mill.
Those guys that work there are fun to deal with, always telling jokes.
Took a bit to type it, but I think it also tells a story about judging people
An Amish man wanted a loan for $500. He approached his local banker. The banker pulled out the loan application, asking, "What are you going to do with the money?"
“Take some jewelry to city and sell it," said the Amish man.
“What have you got for collateral?" queried the banker, going strictly by the book.
“Don't know what collateral means."
“Well that's something of value that would cover the cost of the loan. Have you got any vehicles?"
“Yes, I have a 1949 Chevy pickup."
The banker shook his head, "How about livestock?"
“Yes, I have a horse."
“How old is it?"
“I don't know; it has no teeth."
Finally the banker decided to make the $500 loan.
Several weeks later the Amish man was back in the bank. He pulled out a roll of bills, "Here's the money to pay loan," he said, handing the entire amount including interest.
“What are you going to do with the rest of that money?"
“Put it in my pocket."
“Why don't you deposit it in my bank?" he asked.
“I don't know what deposit means."
“Well, you put the money in our bank and we take care of it for you. When you want to use it you can withdraw it."
The Amish man leaned across the desk, looking suspiciously at the banker, and asked, "What you got for collateral?"
What if it Snows?

@Opus
It's all clear now.
We've nominated you to give the thread a first look on how it actually feels to cross over the newly upgraded bridge, while loaded near gross.

So... My first day of local/regional was 7/5/21... My total miles for the month of July comes to 11,148. Of that total only 338 were from when I was OTR, my last day of driving OTR was the 1st. So that comes to 10,810 miles driven in 26 days of local/regional driving.
During that 26 days I was away from home on 5 nights. I worked 2 Saturdays, and no Sundays. Most miles driven in 1 day was 606. Most paid hours in 1 day was about 17.25. Most paid hours in 1 week was 74 hr 17 mins. Total paid hours for the entire 26 days comes to 274.25.
Longest run was home to Idahofalls, ID to Spokane, WA to Moyie Springs, ID to Shoshone, ID to Burley, ID and back to home... For a total milage of 1527 miles in 3 days.
I think I like this local gig. If it stays this steady, my gross income will be more than my average OTR income was.dwells40, InTooDeep, JolliRoger and 8 others Thank this. -
